Salagdoong Beach Resort is located within the cove, in the village called Olang, in the Municipality of Maria, Island of Siquijor.  My islander-friend told me that the resort is owned by the provincial government of Siquijor Island.

From Dumaguete City, you can take the fast ferry that goes to Siquijor on a regular basis.  This means, every hour. I took the Ocean Fast Ferry from Dumaguete to the Port of Siquijor town.  You can also take the ferry from Dumaguete to the Port of Larena, a neighboring town of Siquijor and Enrique Villanueva.

From the capital town which is also called Siquijor, Salagdoong can be reached by riding the "habal-habal" or a motorcycle, a rented scooter, or by a Carry, a small version of a passenger jeepney.  As of this blogging, the entrance fee ranges from P10.00 to P15.00.

Salagdoong is not different from the other beach resorts but its location and facilities make it one of the best beaches I have seen in Siquijor Island.

It has several air-con rooms, a restaurant, a beachfront with crystal clear water, a water slide, cliff diving, and shed houses. Visitors can also do snorkeling and boating. Our group had lunch at their restaurant.  Their menu includes a selection of Filipino and Asian food.  You can also check from the service crew if they can cook a specific food you wish to order.

During my visit, the staff was really busy as there were many diners in the restaurant.  I had to call the attention of the waiter twice so they can attend to us.  We just waited until we ordered our food.  This experience did not make me feel that the staff were arrogant or make me feel inexistent because I understand, they have many visitors to attend to.  In fact, I appreciate their services and the food service is, to me, just great. Kudos to Salagdoong Beach Resort.

There are times when the beachfront is full of people and there were times when you can have the whole beachfront to yourself. This, for me, is a nice moment to savor the peace and tranquility of the beach. Thus, make your experience a true vacation, I felt so.

From Salagdoong Beach, you can tour the island in a day for only P2,000.00 by renting a Carry Mini Van.
If you wish to experience the island tour, I can recommend a person who will provide you with his car - a Carry, and also serve as your driver and a tourist guide.  His name is Jo Am.  His cell phone number is 0927-6932-095. I hope he did not change his phone number. If he does, there are drivers with their van for hire waiting for passengers at the Siquijor or Larena Ports.

My travel buddy is my youngest daughter, Tintin, with her mom, and Tito Nonoy.

The sound of Silence.  Yes, you will experience tranquility and peace at Siquijor.  There are crowded places but you can have a choice of a beach resort with beautiful beaches and fewer people.  At Bruce Place, we have that.

  3. An execllent part of needing classic English country towns is certainly going out and traveling and touring through Bude, Cornwall. Located on abdominal muscles topside with the mouth on the Cornwall peninsula, a seaside resort of Bude is a little, quaint town of around 9,000 people. It started its life as being a harbor town, naturally enough, only later changing on the role it now plays today in Cornwall's tourist industry. Town Hvar
