GUAM ISLAND TOUR IN A DAY

A GLIMPSE OF GUAM ISLAND

This is a pictorial of my one-day road trip of Guam Island.

One of the travel destinations that I considered as memorable specially this holiday season is Guam.  For me, Guam is a paradise.  Serenely located in the Pacific Ocean, Guam is where America's day begins.

The Solitary Tree facing the vast Pacific Ocean in the vicinity of  Jeff's Pirates Cove.

Guam is the home of one of the friendliest people on Earth.  The Chamorros tirelessly preserved their culture, traditions and way of life until today.  Every Wednesday of the week, there is a Chamorro Night in the Chamorro Village.  This is where you can shop, dine and drink as well as witness the live performances of Chamorro artists through songs and dances.

Entrance to Tanguisson Park, nearby is the Two Lovers Point.  You have not been to Guam if you have not been to Two Lovers Point.

As one of the colonies of Spain in the middle part of the 15th century, Guam had a closer ties with Las Islas Filipinas or the Philippines, a colony of Spain also during that period.  It is not a surprise therefore to see similarities between the Chamorros and the Filipino ways of life.

Today, thousands of Filipinos call Guam their home.  That also included Touristang Pobre.  Although I spend most of my time in the mainland, Guam is close to my heart because that is where I stayed for a long time with my three (3) daughters, my son-in-law and my two (2) grandchildren.
