Small but beautiful resort in Mailum, Bago City.

Yes, that is how I view this beautiful resort located along the road. You do not need to spend time looking for it, driving towards it, or walking towards the hill because it is conveniently located along the main road.

AV Mountain Resort is located in Sitio Pataan, Barangay Mailum, Bago City. It is small compared to other resorts in the area, however, it is complete with amenities that visitors may need. The caretaker informed me that you can occupy the whole resort for your family and friends.

AV Mountain Resort have several native designed cottages enough to accommodate a family and their friends. They have shed houses, swimming pool that is fed by cool spring water, shower room and restroom, and well-manicured lawns where you can place tables and chairs for a small gathering - birthday, family bonding, reunion, and small meetings. They have nice spots for Instagram and Selfies. There is a small store near the gate.

 How to get there?

Let's agree that you are from Bacolod City. The resort is approximately 40 minutes from Bacolod. I mean, 20 - 30 minutes from Bacolod passing by Abuanan, Sum-ag to Ma-ao. The bridge from Sum-ag is now fully operational, bag-o na, wala na to ang daan nga pwerte ka hawa', lol.

So, from Ma-ao Ceres Terminal or Market, it will take you around 10-15 minutes travel time on concrete road.

By Bus

There are two bus companies that service the Bacolod-Ma-ao routes. These are Roadstar and Ceres Bus. Roadstar has a Terminal on Mabini-Hernaez Street, and so does Ceres Bus Terminal that is situated in front of Tay Tung High School.

Ceres Bus leaves every ten minutes.

By Tricycle

Upon your arrival at the Ceres Bus Terminal or the Ma-ao Public Market, you can arrange for a Tricycle ride to the resort. You can agree on the fare. My tip - it will not be more than P300.00.

The best is when you have a car because you can survey the other resorts located along the road from Ma-ao Bus Terminal to the end of the road at Gianna's Mountain Resort or at Negros Geothermal Plant, aka PNOC.

What to do?

If I were to answer this question, my purpose is to chill, relax, bonding with family members, so to speak. Of course, you can go swimming with family and friends.

Since the resort is located on the hilly part of the land, you can have a good view of the lowland, Bago City, the neighboring farms, and the horizon.

Where to eat?

Unlike hotels and big resorts in the area, this family resort does not have a restaurant but a small retail store or "sari-sari store". It is advisable that you bring your own food. You can refer your questions to the caretaker on their Facebook Page, AV Mountain Resort

Comments:

If I were to choose, I would prefer this resort over bigger ones. The Caretaker said that this place can be rented exclusively for the whole group, family, or organization. I would prefer it this way. You can also stay overnight because there are cottages. There is also an area where you can pitch a tent.
