Introduction

Moving cargoes, agricultural produce, sugar, sugarcane tops ("Patdan"), and passengers from the island of Negros had always been associated with seaports that were existing for many decades already.

In Negros Occidental, the ports of Banago and BREDCO are the existing ones with Bacolod City as their center of operation. There, are, however, existing ports that are operational outside of Bacolod City and these are:

1. Pulupandan Port**

2. San Carlos City Port**

3. Danao Escalante Port**

4. Daan Banwa Victorias City**

5. Cadiz City Port at Barangay Banquerohan**

6. Sagay Feeder Port at Old Sagay**

7. Paco Beach - Beaching**

8. Salvacion Port, Bacuyangan, Hinoba-an**

9. Toboso Port**

10. Valladolid, Beaching - when outrigger boats with cargoes and passengers are laid ashore to deliver goods like mangoes, and other agricultural produce from Guimars Island.

Abandoned Bulata Port, Cauayan. (I just included it here for us to know that there was once a port in this part of Cauayan town.)

Ten-wheelers trucks are transported to Bay-ang Port, Ajuy, Iloilo.

How to get to Manta-angan Port.

Let's agree that you are in Bacolod Ceres Bus Terminal at Barangay Bata along the national highway called Lacson Street. From downtown Bacolod you can ride the Taxi going to Ceres Terminal aka, north terminal.

Travel time is around 30 minutes. Tell the driver that you are going down on Bangga Alicante, a Barangay of EB Magalona. Bangga Alicante comes before you reach the town proper of EB Magalona.

From the Bangga, ride the Tricyle for about 10-minute drive to Manta-angan Port.

Upon your arrival on the port, go straight to the registration table, then proceed to the Ticket Counter to pay your ticket. My one-wat ticket was P98.00 with discount.

Take a seat in the waiting area. The shuttle jeep will take you to the RoRo.

Schedule of Roro

The ship has a canteen. We took the upper deck. On the way to Ajuy, we enjoyed the view of the sea and the islets.

Finally, our team arrives at Bay-ang Port on Ajuy town, province of Iloilo.
Now, it is time to go to the Highway Restaurant and Bus Stop for the next chapter of our adventure on this part of Iloilo province.

Please click the link below for the road trip to the restaurant and highway.

Here at Bangga Bay-ang, we had lunch in this kubo cum restaurant and sari-sari store. I had "Bijon Guisado" and a bottle of Pepsi.

After lunch, my team composed of Pinky and Dyordz, surveyed the surrounding area while waiting for the Ceres Bus to take us to Iloilo City. We will be passing by six towns of this coastal area of Southeastern part of the Province of Iloilo - Barotac Viejo, Banate, Anilao, Barotac Nuevo, Zarraga, passing by Dumangas (sulodlon - out of the highway). We were passing by some popular places on this part of Iloilo but I do not know if these are towns or just popular places thereat.

I was hoping to ride the non-aircon bus so I can take photos or video along the way but an airconditioned Ceres Bus pass by, so we did not waste time but ride this bus. Going to Iloilo will take us more than an hour.

This video was taken on Bangga Bay-ang. This crossroad locally known as "bangga" leads you to the inner Barangay of Pedada and to the Port.

Finally, I hope this gives you an idea how to go about your trip from Manta-angan, EB Magalona town in Negros Occidental to Bay-ang Port, municipality of Ajuy in the province of Iloilo.
