Introduction

Today, I traveled to Cadiz City to visit the Cadiz City Commercial Port. It has been my plan to see this port because I want to verify a few information about the Cadiz City to Bantayan Island boat trip.

What I found was a port that is being improved. There was a big pile of gravel and rocks which I was informed, will be used in the improvement of the port.

After filming some important areas of the port, I decided to go back to the city proper to continue taking pictures of the city's CBD or the central business district.

Cadiz City is the service center of the neighboring towns in the province of Negros Occidental as well as the neighboring town of Estancia, Iloilo, and the island of Bantayan, Cebu.

Cadiz is considered a second-class component city in the Province of Negros Occidental. It has a population of 158,544 people. Its land area is 524.57 square kilometers of 220.54 square miles. There are 22 villages or Barangays in Cadiz City. According to Phil Atlas Dot Com, Cadiz has an annual income of Php 496 million as of 2014.

Cadiz City has leveled up since my last visit in 1985 where we had coffee in a beautiful house with a speedboat at the place called "Daga". I love the place because of its thick mangroves and the sea.

Now, Cadiz has an on-going improvement of its Cadiz City Commercial Port.

There are big businesses that are, also, operating in the city, such as SM, McDonald's, Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Chowking, City Mall, Puregold, Chooks to Go, and around 19 more Fastfood chains spread all over the city business district of Cadiz City.

I learned that Gaisano Department Store is soon to open in Cadiz City. I still have to check if it is already operational, so to speak.

How to get to Cadiz City?

From the north in the City of San Carlos and from Bacolod City, Cadiz is accessible by private cars and Ceres Bus.

Buses from the Ceres Bus Terminal located Pepsi-Cola plant and the national highway ply the Bacolod City - Cadiz route. Travel time to Cadiz could take approximately two (2) hours and 40 minutes by Bus. Approximately, Cadiz is about 78 kilometers from Bacolod City.

A visit to Buddy's Food & Refreshment Hub

Actually, it was past noon when I left the Cadiz City Port. I was planning to go straight to Manapla to have coffee or snacks in a popular coffee house thereat. But, upon the insistence of my Trike Driver who asked me to try, just try, this coffee house by the sea, I soon found myself having a refreshment here in Buddy's.

The place looks rustic, simple and emits an ambiance of "tawhay" or peaceful and quiet spot to have a cup of coffee or to have a light snack.

Indeed, the road is not that difficult if your intention to find just a quiet place to have coffee.

So, I thank my Tricycle Driver for taking me to Buddy's and experience snacking by the beachfront, here in Cadiz City.
Ok lang. Ayos lang. Another spontaneous experience for this travel.
