Location:  Along Km. 41, Purok Talus, Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto Township.

Introduction

The town of Salvador Benedicto is a favorite tour destination not only of the residents of Negros Island, but also of the visitors and tourists from the neighboring provinces as well as international tourists who visited Bacolod City during this Masskara Festival.

Returning Filipinos from the U.S. who were members of the Class '71 of Bacolod City High School arranged for a trip to DSB because of its beautiful mountain sceneries and cool climate.

Most of us, however, wanted to experience the local cuisine and food as well as the different flavors of coffee served in several Cafes strategically located along the national highway of the town that stretches from DSB town proper to San Carlos City to the northeast, and Calatrava Township to the northwest.

Travel Time

Travel time from Bacolod City took us almost an hour. Travel time to San Carlos City will take another one (1) hour more or less.

How to get there?

From both ends of the highway - Bacolod and San Carlos City, there are Ceres Buses that ply the Bacolod-San Carlos routes.

There are also Vans for Rent that service the DSB tour destinations. Ask your friends to refer you to van rental companies.

Travel by car is easy since the roads are all cemented or concreted.

The members of Batch '71 decided to go to Salvador Benedicto Township to visit its beautiful landmarks and sceneries. They decided to leave their hotels in Bacolod City at 6:00 o'clock in the morning and to have breakfast at the Cafe' K.M. 41 at DSB.

Going down to the garden and Stations of the Cross, Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto, Statue of the Virgin Mary, Statue of Jesus rising from the dead, and many more.

Cafe' K.M. 41 is not only a cafe' and restaurant but also a landscaped garden with the 14 Stations of the Cross.
Down this landscaped property is a river.

The statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary is part of the religious figures that visitors can find in the Cafe' K.M. 41 gardens and stations of the cross.
Located on the slope or the back part of the Cafe'. A little bit farther is a creek.

we met our batch of Class 1971, Bacolod City High School.

What to do at Cafe' K.M. 41?

There are few things you can do at Cafe' K.M. 41. One of them is savor their Menu for the Day.

Explore the gardens at the back of the Cafe' and see the religious statues depicting a story from the Bible.

For Anthophiles, or plant lovers, the garden at the back of the Cafe' is loaded with several kinds of flowers and plants. You can circumambulate around the property to appreciate these plants and flowers.

For camera cognoscente or people who love or becoming an expert in photography, the place is a huge canvass that can be captured by your camera - iPhone camera or Digital camera.

For Bloggers or Vloggers, Cafe' K.M. 41 is a limitless possibility of "contents" that can be the subject of discussion or analysis to produce a story line that can generate likes and shares as well as talking points about travel, eco-tourism, food tourism, and so on and so forth.

At Cafe' K.M. 41, you can have your event like birthday, wedding reception, anniversary, meeting, family gathering, or high school reunion like we had, and many others.

Educational field trips. I think this is possible for small groups. Whatever the purpose of the EFT, Cafe' K.M. 41 can be an ideal place to have lunch, or whatever your heart may desire, lol.

Just talk to the management about your plans. Mr. Kenn Ryan O. will be happy, I'm sure to assist you and make your plans a reality. Why not, coconut. Lol.

My comments:

Cafe' K.M. 41 is located along kilometers 41. Its restaurant and coffee shop are located near the road, but at the back of their cafe' and restaurant lies a beautifully landscaped garden with religious figures and the stations of the cross.

From the roadside, you cannot see the huge development at the back or down the hilly portion of the restaurant. You have to go down and see them for yourself.
