How did this tour of Old Port Montreal happen?

From New Jersey, we traveled by car to Montreal, Canada. It is, more or less, four (4) hours of travel time. When we reached the border between Canada and the U.S., we showed our passports to the Immigration officers and asked us how long will we stay in Canada. We arrived Friday and we were scheduled to go back home on Sunday morning.

The next day we left our hotel for a tour of Laval town and the nearby historical sites and places as well as Montreal's iconic buildings. I got hold of a piece of paper where I listed the places to visit within the next two days we were in the beautiful city of Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada.

My only wish was to see the Olympic Stadium and I will be done. However, my children maximized the time that we were in Montreal and so we moved from one place to the next as fast and as orderly as we can. Hereunder are my collection of photos of the Old Port, Montreal area.

The Historic Port of Montreal is located in Old Montreal.  The port was opened in 1830 but as early as 1611 the French used it as a fur-trading center. (The Wikipedia).

My Tips and other comments:

If you want to visit a tourist spot in Montreal that requires an entrance fee please go there early because the queue is, most of the time, long that you might decide to skip it and later on regret your decision.

Try not to mentally compute the conversion of Dollars to Pesos when purchasing or paying for something while in Canada.  It will just discourage you to see what is in the landmark or historical sites.  Even when buying soda like a can of Coke or food.  You will go hungry if you keep a mental computation of the conversion of Pesos to the Dollars.

That happened to me when we went to the Basilica of Notre Dame.  I regret that I was not able to see what was inside of the Basilica because I think that paying $5.00 for the entrance fee is expensive.

Enjoy your tour by discovering each of the Top Tour Destinations in Canada.  For example, devote some time to see the inside of the Olympic Stadium or now known as the Montreal Biodome.

I recommend that you spend a little time at the Mont-Royal Lookout and Mont-Royal Park.  You can also rent a bike to discover the whole area with your Bicycle.

Spend a moment with your travel companion and savor the delicacies of Montreal.  There are nice bars and restaurants all over the place.

Lastly, you can do other activities that you like.  There are so many places to discover in Montreal and neighboring towns like Laval where we stayed.

Just be ready with your camera and have an extra battery.  If you are comfortable using your cell phone camera, please do not forget to carry a selfie stick.  I found it (the selfie-stick) to be very helpful.
