MANGA KISSA: TRAVELERS' TEMPORARY HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Manga Kissa: A Temporary Home Away From Home

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus Pandemic, my travel plans had been cancelled. Since I rely mostly on "freebies" when it comes to travel, canceling a July 2020 flight to London and the neighboring cities in Europe means a lot to me. Now, I do not know when that opportunity will comeback. Perhaps, plans will pursue a year after the COVID-19 is over. We, at this Blog Site, hope that we shall overcome this coronavirus crisis sooner but not later, hopefully.
Just to keep in touch with you, I will share this story about Manga Kissa. Manga refers to Comics or Novels.
According to www.bing.com - "Manga is described as comics or graphic novels created in Japan or using the Japanese language and conforming to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. They have a long and complex prehistory in earlier Japanese art. The term manga is used in Japan to refer to both comics and cartooning. Outside Japan, the word is used to refer to comics originally published in Japan." (www.bing.com).
Manga readers or lovers can enjoy reading their favorite Mangas in various Manga stores or Internet Cafes called Manga Kissa, all over Japan.
In this feature, I am presenting a video produced by Asian Boss and published on youtube. This is the story of Hagi, a Freelance Software Engineer who works in an IT Company in Tokyo.
Since he lives one hour away by train from Tokyo, he spent two hours everyday to go to work and go back home. For him, it is a waste of time. So, he decided to stay in an internet café or Manga Kissa where he is assigned a small room with a bench that he can sleep on after reading his favorite Manga Comics or Novels. This Manga outlet is like a library with shelves full of comics, magazines, and books. There are restrooms and shower rooms too.
This video was produced by ASIAN BOSS hosted by Miss Hiroko. I hope you will enjoy watching Hagi's story and how he "lived" in this Manga Kissa for five (5) years.
Also, discover how living in Manga Kissa can sometimes surprise an unsuspecting guest. According to Hagi, there are many foreign travelers that stay in Manga Kissa like the one where he stayed.
Enjoy.
