Introduction

There are many ways to celebrate a birthday. It all depends on what you think will make you enjoy the day with you and your loved ones.

On her birthday, my daughter Bambi together with the "apple of their eyes" Nat, and her "Sunshine" Ness, decided to spend the weekend together in an exclusive place, the beautiful and scenic San Ysidro Ranch or SYR.

Today, we feature the birthday celebration of our feature photographers and travelers, Bambi........and Ness. A relaxing birthday celebration could be an ideal way to spend time together as a family, away from the hurly-burly of city life. 

Earlier, she spent time with her friends and family members and significant others. Now, it is time for the three of them. It is "me time" with her Shine and Nat. 

So, today, I will feature Bambi's birthday celebration with her N & N and together we will also discover how SYR can make your life's milestone a memorable one. That is, if you will decide to spend your special day here. Ayos lang?

How to get there? 

San Ysidro Ranch is located right off the downtown area of Santa Barbara. It is nestled in a 500 pristine acres in the Santa Inez Mountains (Roaming Bloomers).

SYR has 41 cottages with fire place, heated bathroom, private patio with hot tub, and has stunning view of the ocean. Its famous cottage is the Kennedy House where JFK and Jackie spent their honeymoon in 1953.  

According to its website:

"The Ranch has a historical guest like: Groucho Marx, Winston Churchill, Sinclair Lewis, and John Huston, who finished the screenplay for The African Queen while in residence. Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh exchanged midnight wedding vows on the grounds, and Camelot began here with John and Jackie Kennedy honeymooning in the cottage that now bears their name."

What to do at SYR?

There are a lot of things to do at the Ranch. Your imagination is limitless and there are facilities available for you and there are staff who can assist you. 

The Ranch offers a finest dining experience, exclusive wine tasting, a signature salon and spa, horseback riding, jogging around the designated area, or simply walking around the gardens and beautifully landscaped surroundings that offer a breathtaking view of the ocean and the Santa Inez Mountains. SYR has 17 miles hiking trail. 

Where to eat? 

The Ranch offers the best dining experience. 

Old Adobe dates back to 1825. You need to reserve the place. It can accommodate six guests.

Their Menu has an array of food that cut across continents. 

For example - French, Japanese Food, Mediterranean, Spanish, Chinese, Thai, Greek, Italian, Indian Food, Turkish Food, and many more. 

Their wine cellar is fully stocked with the kinds of wines that you can think of and can match with any kind of food that you will order.

Why is San Ysidro Ranch popular among the greatest lovers in the world? 

Well, I really don't know. I just invented this perception, haha. Maybe because the place is so romantic. Imagine the cottages are beautifully landscaped and faces both two icons - the Santa Inez Mountains and the vast ocean which I would like to believe is the Pacific Ocean. Its serenity is so magical. 

While JFK and Jackie Kennedy honeymooned there in 1953, Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier got married there at San Ysidro Ranch on Thursday, August 29, 1940. By Friday, August 30, at 12:01 a.m., Vivien Leigh became Mrs. Laurence Olivier after Judge Fred Harsh officiated their wedding at SYR which then belonged to Ronald Colman and/or Mr. and Mrs. Weingand. Conclusion
