A DAY AT CAMPUESTOHAN

Campuestohan Highland Resort is located in the mountain area of Managaksak and it is approximately 15 to 20 minutes away from where I live.  My tour of Campuestohan was a "freebie" being sponsored by my daughters. 

The area where Campuestohan is located is popularly known as the watershed area of Bacolod and Talisay.  Before the development of this resort, Campuestohan was an area devoted to the cultivation of Sugarcane. In some areas, Cogon and Grasses grow. 

What makes Campuestohan different from the other equally popular resorts in the province is its changing weather in a day. One moment it is Sunny and a few minutes later it will be Foggy and sometimes it rains at noontime or in the afternoon.  It is, therefore, a good idea to carry an umbrella, a raincoat, and a warmer or a jacket so that you are able to roam around and explore the resort. There are so many things to see and enjoy in Campuestohan. 

The photo above shows the famous King Kong, one of the most photographed icons in Campuestohan.  In reality, there is no Gorilla in Campuestohan and even monkeys are a rarity in the upper Managaksak area where the Negros Forest and Ecological Foundation, Inc. have a Staff House. Long-time ago, one area of Campuestohan used to be the site of a small-time "cock derby" or locally known as "incero".  In one of its open fields, the Organizers of the Incero will construct a temporary shelter and a fence made of sliced Bamboos to serve as the Cockfight Arena.  I attended one of those "inceros" and I did not see a bright future for the area.  I was surprised to know that one day, an enterprising gentleman from Bacolod City, Mr. Cano Tan, developed the area into what it is known today as the Campuestohan Highland Resort.  The rest, as they say, is history.

The photo above shows the two species of Dinosaurs.  These icons of Campuestohan are known as the "biggest and tallest Dinosaurs in Asia".  I am familiar with Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus Rex or T-Rex which are commonly found in the toybox of my grandchildren, haha. For an Entrance Fee of P250.00, you can enjoy a swim in several of its spring-fed pools.  

1. Swimming is the most common activity in the Resort.

3. Walking for free on its Hanging Bridge. 

4. Experience the Shark Wave. 

5. Hang Glider Zipline.

9. Roam around its huge grounds and see the different Resort facilities. 

10. Experience the Campuestohan Highland Resort Gourmet at their Restaurant.

 Campuestohan Highland Resort cannot equal America's Six Flags Great Adventure and California's Great America Amusement Park but for me, Campuestohan has tried to provide "everything" that can make every visitor's experience a memorable adventure.
