OCEAN CITY BOARDWALK

When you are in New Jersey, one of the best places to see is the Boardwalk in Ocean City.  It is located at 1132 Boardwalk, Ocean City, NJ 08226.  Ocean City is known as America's greatest family resort and its Boardwalk is world famous too.

With an American flag hanging on every lamp post, the mood is festive and jolly.   

The coastal area is clean and the beach is protected.  This is a perfect place for sunbathing and swimming.  You can also sit and read a book and feel the breeze or enjoy the sun and the sand or stroll the long beach line.  Umbrella and folding chairs can be rented.  Food is available from numerous fast food shops and restaurants.  I love the ice cream shop where I chose my own ice cream flavors.  After weighing the ice cream, the cashier will tell you how much you have to pay.  Nice.

When I was tired of walking, I just looked for a vacant bench and sat for a while, and felt the heat of the sun penetrated my skin, the cool breeze freshened my lungs.  I think I do not have an allergy that day because I took Claritin. 

There are bikes and tricycles for rent. I am not sure if this is how they call it here, the tricycles I mean.

If your "cup of tea" is shopping, the Boardwalk has plenty of shops to choose from. There are souvenir shops that sell printed tees, key chains, mugs, caps and hats, etcetera.

There are rides, entertainment, and game areas for children and grown Boardwalk and take pictures if I think it is all right.

Lifeguards are positioned strategically and this boat is not placed here for decoration.  I think so.  It has a purpose in times of emergency.

Strolling the boardwalk can be a good exercise.

The beach is clean and wide.  There are several flags with different colors.  This one here is green which means that it is safe to swim in this area.  But of course, it is always good to be cautious and keep your eyes "stuck" on the children, so to speak.   The other flags are yellow which means, we can swim but just be very careful because of the strong surf and undercurrent.  I guess children must not be allowed to be near this area.   The red flag means a dangerous area and a double red flag means no swimming.  When there is purple or blue, whew, careful there might be "jaws", the shark that is, and jellyfish...ouch...

I do not know exactly what these rocks are for.  At first, I thought it served as beach protection against strong ocean currents and prevention against erosion, whatever.  But I saw this red flag and the warning -  keep off the jetty. Got it.

Now, I will give this birdie a name, Jonathan Livingstone Seagull.  They were flying everywhere.  Just be careful when they fly over you because they might leave you a souvenir.  You know what I mean? Yes!

There are so many things to do at the Boardwalk of Ocean City, New Jersey such as walking, swimming, bicycling, jogging, surfing (if the surf swells), a helicopter, or an airplane ride to see the Ocean City tourist and beach area.  

Restaurants and Bars as well as To Go Counters are abundant in the Boardwalk area to serve the need of tourists.  For children, there are amusement areas dedicated to entertaining children and adults. 

There are many hotels and vacation houses for rent.  All you have to do is ask your friends to help you find these vacation houses for rent.  You can also search the internet.
