RESORTS NEGRENSE: THE NEWEST TOURIST ATTRACTION AT PUNTA TAYTAY

Introduction

Prior to the global pandemic, the number of tourists and travelers in the Philippines was 8.26 million in 2019 and dropped to 1.5 million in 2020 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. (www.statista.com)

In the tourism industry, one of the badly hit sectors is the hotel business. Who would think that the global COVID-19 pandemic will happen? No one, but it came and so, the hospitality industry was caught by surprise. 

Some hotel and resort owners started improving their facilities prior to the pandemic but they have no choice but to continue with what they have started, finish it and hope that sooner the local tourism industry will return to normal. 

Around September of 2017, I visited the newly completed Resorts Negrense in Punta Taytay, Bacolod City. I took several pictures of the resort, wrote and publish a Blog about it in a few weeks that followed. On the inner part of the property, however, the management continued working or constructing the hotel that will form a big part of the whole Resorts Negrense facilities and services.  

Around the third quarter of 2021, a grand opening of Resorts Negrense was held and was highlighted by the ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by its owners in the presence of its staff, guests, and visitors. I was not there since I was already based in New Jersey. 

What to do in Resorts Negrense?

The place is ideal for holding events like weddings, birthdays, family reunion, meetings, seminars and trainings, team building sessions, and many more.

There are facilities for adults and children.

 Children's playground.

   Families and friends can have a great bonding time here. 

For visitors who love a leisurely boating experience, Resorts Negrense has a  

BOATING LAGOON. 

At that time of my visit in 2017,  it was still under construction or being developed so to speak. But today, November 21, it is now operational.

I still have to check what happened to the Beachfront of this resorts. Because on my previous visits at Punta Taytay, the beachfront of this 14 hectare property of the Rojas Family is clean, had a few huge boulders but I saw no houses along the beach. 

This beachfront is a good spot to watch the sunset. 

 Even if the sand is somewhat light grey, the beach and the sea is clean. 

I'll write an update about the beachfront when that is available. 

The Bar. There is also a wide array of menu you can choose from. The Service crew and staff are mostly graduates of HRM, Hotel and Restaurant Management.  In this picture, I was joined here by my daughter Farah and some associates of RN's bar and resto.  Our visit to Resorts Negrense was one of our family's activities upon our arrival from the U.S. 

By the way, Punta Taytay is the cradle of our Tribu Libo-on. 

There is an on-going construction of the 45-bed capacity hotel. This is what I wrote in 2017. But today, November 21, 2021, the hotel is already operational. 

Where to eat?

The bar and restaurant offers an array of food and drinks of your choice.  

My tips:

Please take note of the following information. I wrote this in 2017, for sure a few things must have changed already. Please verify from the management about the changes in their entrance fees and other resort's Tarrifa. I provided the contact number at the bottom. 

Entrance: (Just a guide). 

• Adult                                     P80.00
• Children (12 years and below) P50.00

2 years and below - Free

Swimming:  Adult and Children      P80.00

Facilities:

• Nipa Huts (good for 6 persons)
• Umbrella Huts (good for 8 persons)
• Casitas (good for 20 or 30 persons)
• Small Lanai (good for 10 persons)
• Poolside Lanai (good for 20 persons)

How To Get There

Resort Negrense is just 20-minute ride from Bacolod City. It is accessible by public and private transport.
