It was around two o'clock in the afternoon when I finished my tour of Boljoon Church. Since I decided not to sleep in Boljoon or the neighboring town of Oslob, I just waited for the Ceres Bus to pass by so I can go to Liloan Port.

The Ceres Bus arrived in front of Boljoon town hall at around 2:30 p.m. So, I ride the bus and upon arrival at the Liloan Port at around 3:00 p.m. I immediately boarded the fast craft bound for Sibulan Port, in nearby Dumaguete City.

The Port of Liloan in Santander, Cebu is also known as Puerto del Sur.  Liloan is a Barangay in the town of Santander, the last town of the province of Cebu that faces the island of Negros and the city of Dumaguete.

Passengers from Cebu who are going to Dumaguete will take the boar at the port of Liloan.  Travel time from Liloan, Cebu to Sibulan Port, Negros Oriental is around 30 minutes by Fastcraft named Santander Express.  There are also RoRo services for transporting vehicles and goods.

Passengers from Cebu are boarding the fast craft for Sibulan Port, Negros Island.

The Port of Liloan in the town of Santander is serviced by an air-conditioned Ceres Bus that takes the passengers from Cebu City to the Port and from the Port to the city of Cebu.  The Bus passes by several towns in the southeast side of the province of Cebu.

My Comments:

  1. This is my first time to travel from Dumaguete to Cebu through the Port of Liloan at Santander, Cebu.
  2. The schedule of the outrigger boat and fast craft begins as early as 5:00 o'clock in the morning and the last trip is around 7:00 o'clock in the evening.  Please check with the Ticket Counter if there will be changes in the Schedule of Boats.
  3. I have the habit of throwing my boat ticket after each trip and so I cannot tell you exactly how much I paid but I am very sure it was less than a hundred pesos.  The Ticket Counter allows discounts for students and senior citizens.
  4. As of June 26, 2018, the website of 2goticketsale.com reported that the following are the rates of Cuadro Alas Navigation that service the Sibulan - Liloan - Sibulan routes.

Cuadro Alas Navigation Fare Rates
Regular – Php 62.00
Students – Php 55.00
Senior Citizen – Php 59.00
Children ( 3 yrs to 9 yrs old) – Php 30.00
At this time, 4/1521, the boat fare must have increased. Just check at the ticket counter when you buy your ticket if there are changes in the "Tarifa".
Finally, I am not very sure if there are other RoRo Vessels, Outrigger Boats, and Fastcrafts that service the Sibulan - Liloan - Sibulan routes. I said this because I was told that there is another wharf that serves the RoRo or Roll On-Roll Off vessels or car and vehicles carrier.

Outrigger Boats and Fastcrafts depart from Liloan Port and Sibulan Port at 4:30 a.m. Their last trip varies from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Just check with the Ticket Clerk if there will be changes in the Schedules because most of the time, they change the schedule without prior notice.  Thanks.

Before I forget, please check with the Ticket Counter regarding the charges or fare of Cars, Motorcycle, and other big cargo.  You can also visit the website of the RoRo Vessel for the charges and schedule of trips.

One of these RoRo Vessels is Maayo Shipping. Regarding their Schedule of Trips, you can check on their Facebook Page - Maayo Shipping, Inc.  I advise you to be there at the port/wharf an hour before your Departure as you will be forming a queue.

According to buses and ferries dot com, the following are the Maayo Shipping, Inc. schedules and fees as of March 29, 2021.

For me, the best mode of transport is the Fastcraft. The Outrigger Boats does not makes me comfortable but if you like adventure, you may opt for this one if it is available.
