After spending a four-day vacation in Quebec, Canada, we headed back to New York. We had to cross the border between the U.S. and Canada.  This border is in the small town of Champlain, New York, where the U.S. Customs and Border Protection is located. Before we cross the border, we have to present our travel documents to the Customs and Immigration Officer.  After that, we continue to drive to the United States. In this case, the State of New York.

Since we arrived at the Border at past noon, we decided to go to Lake George Township for lunch.

We had been to Lake George before and we enjoyed the Lake Cruise onboard the Minne Haha.    According to Wikipedia, Lake George is a town that is a part of Warren County, New York, United States.  It is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes drive from Montreal Canada where we just came from.

When we arrived at Shepard Park, we found a parking spot and from there we walked the sidewalks to find a restaurant where we could have lunch.

After a long walk, we passed by a Pizza Parlor and bought pizza, fries, chicken tenders, onion rings, and drinks.

We walked towards the Lakefront and saw a row of folding beach chairs.  We gathered in this spot to have lunch.  While eating, we were watching the steamer Minne Haha that was cruising the lake.  There were few speedboats in action, and wild ducks swimming in the lake.

Other than Cruising the Lake on board the Steamer Minne HaHa, Lake George is also ideal for speed boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, white water rafting, and scuba diving, among others.

There is also a designated area for swimming which is located on the lakefront of Shepard Park.

Once you are in this town, it is easy to ask for assistance from the Visitor Center.

Lake George Township is a vibrant community where tourists can easily blend in with the happy atmosphere of the town.

Lake George is a long lake that starts in a small village also called  Lake George and ends in the Ticonderoga Region. The Lake measures 32 miles in length and 2 miles in width.  The Lake is a sight to behold when the sun is about to rise.

Wherever you go, you will be greeted by vibrant colored flowers strategically planted on the ground or placed in huge ornamental pots.

It made me think that Lake George Town can also be called the Town of Beautiful Flowers.

History

Because I do not have an accurate source of information about the town and the lake that is both called Lake George, I will, therefore, cite the history of the town which I took from Wikipedia. Here, I will quote:

"The first European to visit the lake was Father Isaac Jogues in August 1642.[5] He was later captured by Mohawks, escaped, and returned home to France. In 1646, he was sent on a political mission to the Iroquois to propose a treaty of peace, and at that point named the lake "Lac du Saint Sacrement" (Lake of the Blessed Sacrament).[5]
In 1755, the lake was renamed "Lake George" by General William Johnson in honor of King George II.[5]
Lake George was also the site of Fort William Henry, named in honor of Prince William Henry, grandson of King George II, by General Johnson. The fort, its surrender to the Marquis de Montcalm after a six-day siege by the French and Indians, and the following massacre all in 1757 were used by James Fenimore Cooper as the background for his famous novel The Last of the Mohicans. The fort was reconstructed and opened to the public as a museum in 1953.[5]
The town was established in 1810 as the "Town of Caldwell" from parts of the towns of BoltonQueensbury, and Thurman.[6] In 1962 the town changed its name to Lake George.[5]
The town is also home to Wiawaka, a historic retreat center that was founded in 1903 for female textile workers from Troy but operates as a nonprofit for everyone today.[citation needed]

How To Get There?

The best way to get to Lake George is by using your GPS.  Just Google the address of your destination and surely Google will guide you there.
For a start, you can use the address of the Town Hall of Lake George, here -

20 Old Post Road Lake George, NY 12845

All activities revolve around or near the Town Hall. Other facilities and activities could extend as far as the end of the Lake.  There are hotels, restaurants, and bars, as well as docking areas for boats, and other sports-related activities and facilities that are located on both sides of the Lake.

I would like to suggest that you must not fail to visit the historical sites like Fort William Henry, among others.
