BUSCH GARDENS VIRGINIA

There are many attractions that can be found in historic Virginia. One of them is the "World's Most Beautiful Amusement Park" since 1990, the Busch Gardens.

Location:  1 Busch Gardens Blvd, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Before traveling to Virginia, we gathered little pieces of information about their COVID-19 Protocols, hotel reservations, dining in restaurants, park tours, and others.

Since we travel as a family with fully vaccinated adults, we decided to book an Airbnb. We selected one that is near the places we would like to tour or visit. Busch Gardens is just a few minute-drive from where we stayed.

Every time we visit a tourist attraction, restaurant, train station going to the center of the Busch Gardens, parking area, or go around public places, all of us were wearing masks. We also observe social distancing as well as frequent handwashing as the need arises. As much as possible, we avoid crowded places so we always keep a safe distance from the other tourists, we also avoid closed places like restaurants without an open-door dining area. Our priority is still the health of every member of the family both adults and children.

Let's enjoy Summer as safely as possible for all members of the family.

Parking Area

Busch Gardens, Virginia has several parking areas. We got a spot which is a walking distance of the Trolley Station. I think most parking areas have Trolley Station. We rode the Trolley towards the Entrance of the Busch Gardens.

Trolley Station.

The Entrance.

There are several "Countries" that we were scheduled to tour. I think our first was England. From here we are connected to the other "Countries" by walking and/or riding the Train.

A unique experience awaits us and that is an experience to ride this boat for a short river cruise.

We visited England first, in this Busch Gardens tour.

The photo below is actually in "Germany".

A huge food court in the Festhaus where live musicians performed that afternoon.

The photo hereunder is in "Italy".

British Flags hanging all around.

Waiting for the train that will take us to the next country.

I think this spot is in "Ireland".

Italy
The Ruins of Pompeii in the Italian section of Busch Gardens.
Pompeii is one of the important cities in Campania, Italy. Pompeii fell under the influence of Rome in the 2nd Century, B.C. It was destroyed and some portions buried to the ground when Mt. Vesuvius erupted in 79 C.E. or Christian Era. (search.yahoo.com)

In Italy, we also found a Roman Arena or a place of entertainment where live bands or singers performed that afternoon we were there. There is also a food court where tourists can grab a sandwich and a drink while watching the singers who rendered Italian songs to the delight of the audience, including me.

Attractions and Things To Do

There are special events held every month. For example this July 30 to September 6, there is a "Bier Fest" which I think is held in the German area of the park.

From September 10 to October 31 is the "Howl-O-Scream".
From September 25 to October 31 is "The Count's Spooktacular", referring to the Halloween celebration.
From November 12 to January 2 is "The Christmas Town".

Of course, you have all-day dining, all-day rides, swimming, animal reserves, souvenir shops, entertainment, and live performances, train rides from one point to the next, all at your convenience.

Restrooms are everywhere, I mean, these are accessible and are children friendly too. Parents have areas to change their kids' diapers. Seniors need not worry too because there are restrooms at every turn, so to speak.

Tips - Before exiting the amusement park, be sure to make a last visit to the restrooms because there are no more "portalet" near the parking area.

Tips - to the management. I suggest that they shall provide portalets near the parking area or near the Trolley Station.

Plan your tour around Busch Gardens so that you can maximize your time here. From the Trolley Station, we went to the Entrance, presented our reservation/tickets, and did our first tour of the first country - England. There are many attractions here that looked similar or reminded us of England and/or English countrysides, among others. There were restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops.

Tips - Print your own map of the Busch Gardens and carry it with you as your guide. There are areas devoted to England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, and Italy. Busch Gardens closes at 9:00 p.m but there are days when they close at 10:00 p.m.

Tips - Please visit their website for more information. Here

Scotland

Our walking tour of Scotland was exciting because I saw a little of what Scotland is all about. I dream of visiting Scotland in the future and this tour here in Busch Gardens gave me a "preview", so to speak.

Ireland

Here, in this tour of "Ireland", we walked down the road leading to Killarney. It is a town in County Kerry, the Republic of Ireland, that is famous for its beautiful lakes and mountains, (search.yahoo.com). Walking down "Killary" is like tasting a little bit of Ireland, of course! hehe...

This tour is just a preview of the bigger things to come...haha... Why? Ireland is now on my bucket list or what most travelers say, someday list. See you Ireland.

Yes, you are right. Emerald Isle is the poetic name of Ireland, according to poet William Drennan.

Tips - Always carry an extra battery for your camera and a charger for your cellphones.

(Mea Culpa. I was probably enjoying a lot of seeing the beautiful sights that I forgot to take pictures of around the area of France.)

Finally, visit the Busch Gardens website before your scheduled trip to gather more information or changes in their scheduled activities. Thanks.
