Introduction
Malacañang is the name of the official residence of the President of the Republic of the Philippines. It is officially called Malacañang Palace, which is located San Miguel, District of Manila.
The Other Malacañangs
Below are the Official Residences of the President of the Philippines whenever he traveled to the different regions in the country. This is a product of my research from the different sources of information, specifically the internet's Wikipedia, and others.
*During the time of President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos, Sr. he initiated the construction of the Malacañang of the North located in Paoay, Ilocos Norte and it serves as the residence of the family of then President F. E. Marcos.
**Malacañang of the South is located in Pana, Davao and is popularly known as "Panacanang". It is the official residence of the President of the Philippines whenever the President is in Mindanao. The two Storey building was completed in 2007 during the administration of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
***Malacañang of the South has 8 rooms and the building houses several offices under the Office of the President, as well as the state owned PTV 4 and RTVM or Radio TV Malacañang.

Malacanang Sa Sugbu
Two days, after my arrival in Cebu City from Taipei, I arranged for a walking tour of the Plaza Independencia, the Fort San Pedro, and the Malacañang Sa Sugbu. These are three (3) historical sites and places that played a major role in the social, cultural, and economic growth and development of Cebu.

During the Presidency of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in 2014, she converted the Aduana or the Customs Building into the Malacañang Sa Sugbu. It then became the official residence of the President of the Philippines in the Visayas.
Malacañang Sa Sugbu is originally a Customs Building because of its proximity to the ports of Cebu. It was built in 1910 as a Bureau of Customs Office. The Philippines was then a territory of the United States. The building was designed by William E. Parsons.

Plaza Independencia
Previously, Plaza Independencia or Independence Square was known as Plaza de Armas or Plaza Mayor (17th Century). At the turn of the century, circa 1890's when Spain was about to lose the Philippines to the United States, this open space was called Plaza Maria Cristina in honor of Queen Maria Cristina, Queen of Spain from 1829 to 1833 and as Queen Regent from 1833 to 1840. (en.wikipedia.org).
During the American Period, the square was known as Plaza Libertad. It was known as Plaza Independencia prior to the start of World War II. (Wikipedia).
Fort San Pedro
After walking around the Plaza Independencia, I went to the door of Fort San Pedro thinking that I can explore the inside, but I was not able to enter the Fort because it was a holiday that day. So, I just took pictures of the surrounding area of the Fort.
The previous presidents must have built or renovated old buildings to serve as the residence of the President of the Philippines wherever he is in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. These offices also create a feeling of accessibility between the Filipino people and their President. If there is a Malacañang in the South or Mindanao, Luzon, and Visayas, it is because the President wants to get closer to the public who catapulted him or her to power.
This Blog, therefore, is just a snippet of what Malacañang means to the people from the three main group of islands in the Philippines, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
