CCLEX or Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway

Introduction

The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway of CCLEX is an 8.9 kilometer or 5.5 miles toll bridge expressway in Metro Cebu. It connects the city of Cebu and Cordova, in Mactan Island. The bridge crosses the Mactan Channel and is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the Philippines. (en.wikipedia.org).

Two days after I arrived in Cebu City from New York, (via Taipei), I decided to visit the CCLEX because it is interestingly the longest sea bridge in the Philippines. I experienced crossing the longest sea bridge on the way to Virginia from Delaware - the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - Tunnel. At this time, I will be experiencing crossing the longest sea bridge in the Philippines, the CCLEX.

I am sharing with you this collection of pictures I took while crossing this bridge. Hereunder are some of these.

We paid P90.00 at the Toll Gate (Cebu City) for crossing the bridge to Cordova, Mactan Island. We paid the same amount on our way back to Cebu from Cordova, Mactan Island,

At the time of this tour, there were few vehicles crossing the bridge. Why? This is not fully operational. Maybe in the next few months, traffic will increase.

Photos show the bridge at daylight and at nighttime when we headed back to Cebu's South Road Properties from Cordova, Mactan Island. We were looking for a restaurant to have dinner.

After this trip, we went to IL CORSO for dinner. Il Corso is like a food park where several bars and restaurants as well as shops are located in one big area.

How To Get there?

From Cebu City, the CCLEX Bridge is about 15 minutes from Metro Cebu towards the SRP or South Road Properties area. Its 8.9 kilometers bridge connects Cebu to Cordova, Mactan Island, Cebu. At the time of my travel, the toll fee for our car is P90.00 or a little less than $2.00.

CCLEX improves the movement of people, goods and services between the islands of Cebu and Mactan. One of the biggest economic activities that this bridge serves is the Tourism Industry.
