Introduction

So many places to see in Siquijor Island that majority of tourists visit but there is one that is, for me, less popular. Why? I seldom see it featured on Facebook as well as on YouTube videos. Maybe, I am wrong but let me share a collection of photos I took on this resort.

How to get there?

Since Capilay Spring Park is in Siquijor Island, our jump-off point is Dumaguete City. Let's agree that you are in Dumaguete City. Proceed to the side of the port where the Fastcraft - Ocean Jet and/or RoRo ship - Montenegro Lines are docked. Buy your ticket from the ticket booth of the Fastcraft that service the Dumaguete - Siquijor Island trips.

From Dumaguete City, it takes around 50 minutes to reach the Port of Siquijor on board the Fastcraft while 1.5 hours on board the RoRo ship.

The Municipality of San Juan

The town of San Juan, where Capilay Spring Park is located, is a 5th class municipality in the island-province of Siquijor. It has a population of over 16,000 people as of 2020 census.

Capilay Spring Park is in the town of San Juan, Siquijor Island, just 50 minutes Fastcraft from Dumaguete City.

Cool water of the pool is a refreshing sight to behold.

"Nami tampisaw sa ma bugnaw nga tubig halin sa spring."

The spring park has benches, cottages, and wide well-manicured lawns ideal for picnic and small events.

Benches are provided by the town for visitors to sit and relax while enjoying the cool ambience of the park. "Kon ga paligo ang mga bata, why not ang tourists? O' di ba? haha...

This is Mayor Wilfredo Capundag of San Juan Town at the time of my visit there.
In 2022 local election, Mayor Wilfredo Capundag, Jr. was elected town mayor.

I considered my visit to Capilay Spring Park as very relaxing visit. I just sat by the bench, walk around and take in fresh air, then I met their town mayor who happened to be around the area.

What to do on Siquijor Island?

There are so many things to do while on the island of Siquijor.

First, we can start by touring the whole island. By hiring a small vehicle called "Carry" or "Talikitok" you can see as many places as possible in the different towns all over the island.

Second, visit the beaches, historical sites and places, mountains and hills, old houses, spring resort, waterfalls, and many more.

Specifically, you can go to these places as follows:

There are so many resort hotels on the island. In this trip I stayed at Bruce Resort Hotel, which is located on the beachfront of Solangon, town of San Juan, on the western side of the island.
