This is the Port of Maya. Maya is also a Barangay in the town of Daanbantayan, Province of Cebu. It is the northernmost town in Cebu that is about a 30-minute boat ride to the next island Barangay of Malapascua.
The picture that you see is the Port Terminal where you register, purchase your boat ticket and pay the Environmental Fee. Boat fare is P100.00. Ceres Tours bus direct from Cebu to this port is around P160.00. (My Tip: There might be changes in the rates as of today, September 13, 2019).
The picture that you see is the docking area of outrigger boats that serve the Maya Port and Malapascua Island. From Cebu City, Maya Port is a three-hour bus ride.

November 22, 2022, update on the Maya Port
New Maya Port, Daanbantayan, Cebu.

My research from different sources revealed that this new port will serve the RoRo Ships that service the Maya Port to Calbayog City, as well as the Outrigger Pump Boats that will service the tourists and residents of Malapascua Island.

Ceres Tours Bus, the air-conditioned bus that serves the Cebu-Maya Port routes are stationed at the Cebu Bus Terminal bound for the Northern part of Cebu. The Ceres Bus will take you right there on the Port for Malapascua Island. As of this trip, there was an on-going repair or improvement of the port. You will know this happened upon your arrival in the Port Area. (Today, December 11, 2021, an improved port was done, for sure.)
By the way, if you are riding the Ceres Bus from Cebu, they have a parking spot near the new Port.

Tourists onboard the Outrigger Boat for Malapascua Island. There is a toilet in this boat.
We are approaching the island of Malapascua. The boat in the picture has departed Malapascua Island and is now bound for Maya Port. Can you guess what time of the day is this? You are right, it is about noontime.
And finally, we will dock on the beach of Malapascua Island. The native designed structure that you see here is the Mabuhay Bar and Restaurant where I ate my lunch.
Some more photos taken around Malapascua Island.
Temporary docking area of outrigger boats going to Maya Port, Cebu.
You can start your island tour from this point. There are so many overnight accommodations on the island. You can also ask for the assistance of your Boatman. From where we docked that is also where I took the boat for Daanbantayan Port, Cebu.
Boat Ride from Malapascua Island
If you are leaving the Malapascua Island, you must coordinate with the Boatmen on this area of the beach. Sometimes, the Boatmen are congregating under the trees on this Beach. There is, however, a temporary boat terminal on the beachfront a little bit far to the right which is to the right of this picture.
How to get to Maya Port?
Your jump-off point is Cebu. Just go to the Ceres Bus Terminal (north-bound) and look for the Ceres Tours bus that goes directly to Maya Port.
If you are coming from Bantayan Island, you must first of all be in the port of Hagnaya. Before you ride the bus you must inform the Conductor that you are going to Malapascua Island. Then, he will advise you to go down the junction of the road where you can get a bus ride or ride the Tricycle going to the New Maya Port. Always remind the bus conductor that you need to go down the junction so you can ride the bus to the New Maya Port. I estimate you cannot spend more than P200.00 for this bus ride from Hagnaya Port (the port of all boats coming from Bantayan Island), to the junction of the road going to Maya Port.
You will be very lucky if the Ceres Bus will drive straight to Maya Port from Hagnaya. But there are instances when they do. Please ask the Ceres Bus Conductor who is stationed in the Bus Terminal at Hagnaya Port.
Riding the bus from Hagnaya Port can save you a lot of money. Most Tricycles or Taxis from Hagnaya Port will charge you from P700.00 to P1,500.00 just to take you to Maya Port. Be patient with your haggling skills. Or just take the bus.
By Boat From Bantayan Island
You can ride the boat from Bantayan Island to Malapascua Island. This sometimes happens when a group of tourists, maybe, scuba divers wanted to travel this way. It is expensive though and always be watchful of the weather condition. When the weather is bad just take the bus.
The boat from New Maya Port takes around 30 minutes to reach Malapascua Island. During summer or Dry Season in the Philippines, the sea is smooth. The boat just glides to Malapascua in a short time that you will not be bored. Each boat has a Toilet.
Enjoy your trip.
