Temple of Leah

Introduction

The Temple of Leah is one of the famous landmarks in the Queen City of the South, Cebu. It was built to honor the wife of Teodorico Soriano Adarna, Leah Albino-Adarna.

The temple was constructed in 2012 on a one-hectare property located in Barangay Busay, Cebu. The temple has 24 chambers that houses the library, antique collections, art gallery, bar, and others. Most of the things that can be found in the temple are personal collections of Mrs. Leah Adarna. According to her daughter, Arlene Adarna Mangubat, her Nanay was a hoarder. The reason why she accumulated so many things in her lifetime. Most of these things can be found in the temple.

Adarna's daughter Arlene further revealed that her Nanay was so worried about her collections of things that she asked her husband Teodorico Soriano Adarna to build a house that will keep all her things in a safe place, fearing that her children might throw them away after she died. Mrs. Adarna has cancer which caused her demise.

True to his promise and devotion to his wife, Teodorico built this mansion which is now known as Temple of Leah. The rest is, as they say, history. (I posted an article, hereunder, about the interview of ABS-CBN with Arlene Adarna Mangubat.)

How to get there?

From Cebu City, take a Taxi or Van.
Entrance fee to the temple is P100.00 per person.

What to see?

There was an on-going renovation when I visited the place last week. So, I was able to see the wide-open space, the work being done on the lower level, and the entrance to the temple where visitors can find the sitting Leah. It was a wrong timing, for me. But I found it ok for at least I have a glimpse about the Temple of Leah. I just hope that when I revisit it next year, maybe, all the chambers will be opened to the public.
