This year 2024, there is a Cherry Blossom Festival at Branch Brook Park. 

They recently emailed to me a reminder about the Cherry Blossom Festival. Here it is: 

"Good afternoon, Henry. Please consider visiting us in April for Cherry Blossom season! Feel free to also stop by our table this year at the newly renovated Cherry Blossom Welcome Center and/or our table outside of the Education Building at Prudential Concert Grove!"

When will the Cherry Blossom Festival begin?   

Spring ushers in the season for Cherry Blossoms.  Here in New Jersey, people can enjoy the cherry blossom at Branch Brook Park.  According to Branch Brook Dot Org through its Branch Brook Park Alliance Page, they cannot determine when the bloom will start but they are predicting it will be between April 6 to April 18 with some early bloomers to begin in late March.  The Cherry Blossom Festival at BBP will showcase a lot of activities that will surely make your Spring break a great time for family bonding. Cherry Blossom in Branch Brook Park is considered the biggest Cherry Blossom Festival that some observers say is even bigger than Washington D. C.'s Cherry Blossom Fest.  Starting with more than 2,000 cherry trees in the early 1920s, NOW, the park has more than 5,000 trees that are planted in the strategic areas of the huge Branch Brook Park.

From the Garden State Parkway

Take Exit 148 toward Bloomfield Avenue. From the south, at the end of the ramp, turn right at the light onto Bloomfield Avenue. From the north, turn left at the light at the end of the ramp, then right at the second light; at the first light, turn left onto Bloomfield Avenue. After 2.1 miles, turn left onto Lake Street. Take first left into the park. For the Middle and Southern Divisions, turn left onto the Park Drive; for the Northern Division and Extension, turn right.

From the NJ Turnpike

Take Exit 15W (I-280) toward Newark / The Oranges. Proceed on I-280 to Exit 14B toward M L King Boulevard. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto State Street. Take first right onto M L King Boulevard. After 0.4 miles, take a slight left onto Bloomfield Avenue. After 0.6 miles, turn right onto Lake Street. Take first left into the park. For the Middle and Southern Divisions, turn left onto the Park Drive; for the Northern Division and Extension, turn right. (Source: Branch Brook Park Alliance website)
