Introduction

For many years, Cadiz City had been the service center of commerce and trade between the Province of Cebu and Negros Occidental as well as the neighboring island-provinces in the Visayas. 

The port of Cadiz City played a key role in the movement of agricultural produce and other commercial goods and people or passengers. 

This was hastened by the shipping and boat service between Cadiz City and Negros Occidental, and the island of Bantayan in particular and the province of Cebu in general. 

In this blog, we will feature Cadiz City Commercial Port.

Location 

The port is located on the coastal area of Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City. Specifically, at Gustilo Boulevard, Cadiz City.

From the downtown area of Cadiz City, we went to SM Hypermart on corner Abelarde Street and then follow the Gustilo Boulevard to the port.  Please try to click the link and see the road network to the port.

Cadiz City to Bantayan Island 

The port of Cadiz is your jump-off point to Bantayan Island, Cebu. So far, there is only one shipping company that service the Cadiz City to Bantayan Island. This is the Balt-Bep Shipping Express. According to its FB page, the shipping company has Modernized Outrigger Boats that service the Cadiz City to Bantayan Island routes. Docking area at Bantayan Island is Sta. Fe Port.

This steel bodied ship's schedule are as follows: 

Cadiz City to Bantayan, Cebu ...........8:45 A.M.

Bantayan to Cadiz City ................... 12:30 P.M. 

For May 3-31, 2024.

Regular ........Php 900.00

Student ........Php 765.00

Senior Citizen and PWD ......Php 720.00

Child (2-11 years old) ..........Php  450.00

Cadiz City Port is also the jump-off point for travelers to Estancia, Iloilo and is serviced by Balt-Bep Shipping Express too.

Cadiz City Commercial Port as it looks today. There is an on-going improvement of the port facilities. As of presstime, the boat has left for Bantayan in the morning and is expected to return to Cadiz City Commercial Port by 4:00 P.M. According to our informant it will leave for Bantayan the next day.

We hope this blog gave you an idea on how to go about your planned trip from Cadiz City to the island of Bantayan in Cebu Province. 

Be sure that you arrive in the port, one hour before your trip to give you time to purchase your ticket. 

How to get there? 

From Bacolod City

1. Go to the Ceres Bus North Terminal at Bata-Pepsi. Ceres Bus has a regular bus schedule from Bacolod City to Cadiz where they have a bus terminal. 

2. From the terminal, you can hire a Tricycle to go to the port. Just make arrangement with the driver for the fare. 

From San Carlos City

1. Go to the Bus Terminal in San Carlos City, Ceres Bus has a regular schedule from San Carlos City to Bacolod City which passes by Cadiz City. Please talk to the Conductor that you are going to Cadiz City so he can give you other information you wish to know. 

You can also get a Van for rent from Bacolod City or San Carlos City. 

Be sure your travel time is enough to reach Cadiz City Commercial Port, at least one hour before the scheduled departure. A little earlier is better. Just decide what is best for you.
